Itinerary: 11 Days / 10 night’s

 

Arrive Keflavik airport where a driver will pick you up and transfer you to Reykjavík. The drive is about 40 minutes. Check into Sand Hotel for 4 nights

Meals: None, other than those provided on your flight

Meet your guide in the lobby then you will head out to the country side, the drive goes into the countryside to Thingvellir, the site of the original Althing, the actual founding place of the oldest democratic parliament in the world. This area is noted for its spectacular lava formations and being the only place in the world where you can actually see the tectonic plates drift apart.

Today Thingvellir is a national park by many considered the most important one where the protected area will always be the property of the Icelandic nation. Research has made it clear that Thingvellir is a natural wonder on an international scale, with the geologic history and the bios stem of Lake Thingvallavatn forming a unique entity. From there we will head to the most impressive waterfalls in Europe, Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall).  Here you will see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down in a double-fall into a deep gorge from the glacier Langjokull. 

And then you will visit Geyser, the “geyser” which gave its name to all other erupting hot springs. You will see one of the most active geysers in the area, Strokkur, spouting up to 90 feet into the air. 

Return to Reykjavík

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Husafell National Park and further to the glacier edge – on a journey to one of the world’s greatest wilderness where you will be able to explore the incredible ice cap glacial environment.

This tour will enable you to explore around, on and within, the giant, 953sq/km glacier. Taking ice cap glacier exploration to a whole new level. This isn’t your average Iceland tour, it is a once in a lifetime adventure, to Iceland’s most significant, new attraction; the man-made Ice Cap Glacier, located high on Europe’s second largest glacier, Langjokull. After tour return to Reykjavík with a stop at Barnafossar & Deildartunguhver.

Northern lights hunt in the evening if conditions allow

Discover Reykjavik with a private guided tour (approx. 3 hours), then departure to the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s most popular attraction. The Blue Lagoon is a natural geothermal spa surrounded by lava field and black sandy beaches.
